I’ve always been a Snapper

I’ve always been a snapper, the point and then the click,
but today I have decided to learn what makes my camera tick.
I’m a little trepidatious about all the buttons and dials,
but life should be for learning, so bring on the “manual” trials.
So if there are no pictures to post here on my blog,
it’s because I couldn’t navigate through the camera manual’s fog.
I’m good at reading English, for it is my native tongue,
but when it comes to “Manualese” I often get it wrong.
So cross your fingers for me as I explore today,
’cause if it totally frustrates me I’ll probably throw the thing away.

  1. I can so relate to your post. I have a beautiful camera, but I still haven’t figured out. I threw the manual out.

    1. I haven’t give up just yet, but only managed one shot on “manual” and I don’t know how I did that! 🙂

  2. G’day Claudette,
Oh I totally understand this, it reminds me of me, and in rhyme as well … love it,

    1. I had every intention of actually just writing a “word” post – I even go the first sentence typed – but then it just started, and I had to go with the flow. 🙂

  3. Sometimes I find that just feeling and fiddling around by yourself is better than trying to understand the instructions even if they are in the right language. More so now, I’ve found that instructions come just as pictures, with no words at all, so you have to guess at what on earth those pictures are telling you to do.

    1. Yes, this is what I did, but then I couldn’t remember WHAT I did! 🙂

  4. I taught myself by experimenting but also listening to youtube videos. There are quite a few instructional videos on youtube, so that may be a place to start. Love the rhyme 🙂
