Walking On Sunshine Blog Hop Party

The very lovely Hugh has had another fantabaroonie idea for a party – the Walking On Sunshine Blog Hop Party.

I, of course, could not resist the opportunity to put on my glittery thongs (look at the feet, people) and my very best Akubra hat (with dangling glittery corks around the brim), sling my swag over my back and waltz off to his party.

As per his instructions I am bringing with me my someone who brings a guaranteed smile to my face every time they post a blog – even though I do not know them.  See, I’m an Ocker and I’m friendly like that  🙂

So, without further ado (Ado couldn’t come, he had a toenail emergency and couldn’t find support thongs) here is Penny Redshaw from Motivating Giraffe.  A lovely Aussie girl drawing giraffes – absolutely makes sense to me.  She very kindly lets you share her pictures (although give the girl some credit, and credit her with the source of the unique dots of happiness) and has a digital download hi-res page too.

So, there you have it, me with my stylish and oh-so-typically-australian-party-going-outfit and Penny with her Giraffe.  Hope you have a very high roofline Hugh.

Random Photos – Week 12/15

On Wednesday I left home early for work, and stopped at Franklin and took some photos.

Seagulls on Jetty
Seagulls on Jetty

This is my favourite shot of the morning, I love the misty pale colours of the far shore, the waves lapping against the jetty, and the little morning cluster of seagulls.

Red Yacht

I couldn’t resist the flash of the red yacht against the misty hills.

Seagull Flying
Seagull Flying

Some of the seagulls started to fly off and I managed to capture this one, but I admit to having to do a bit of editing to get the photo to look smooth.  (I had a massive “will I – won’t I” argument with myself about doing so much noise reduction, but in the end I figured it was my photo and I should do what I want with it, it doesn’t have to be “Real Life” all the time).

Two Big One Little
Two Big One Little

Just a short way further up the road the Pelicans often sit on this log, sometimes as many as 5 will be there.  This morning there were only two, and a smaller fly-in-friend.

White Egret
White Egret

The photo was taken on Friday afternoon -on my way home.  I saw him in the water out of the corner of my eye as I approached the bay, luckily for me, even though he flew off from the water when I stopped, he didn’t go far.

Hope your week was full of calm, with a hint of colour to liven it up.

Random Photos – Week 11/15

Things that caught my eye last week:

Birds seem to pop up everywhere this week, these are the photos I finally settled on, a Red Robin, an Egret in the Early Morning, a Cormorant and Crows!  Yes, I finally managed to get a shot of crows, multiple crows – now I just need a close up.

Facts I learnt this week:  there are 2 types of dandelions growing in my lawn, who knew? Photographing a fairy isn’t easy!  Camellia Seed pods are bizarre.  The weird coloured cloud may be an alien mothership (that’s probably not a fact, but if it is you heard it here first).  Rainbows never look as good in a photo I take as they do in real life.  Ships with red sails are not necessarily invading raiders.
