I need Help – Reblogging question

Help … I’m trying to reblog one of my posts from my separate business blog, and not being able to work it out.

  • When I sign in to this blog (Ceenoa) and open the post in my reader I can see the Reblog button at the end of the post, BUT it only offers to reblog it on that blog (A Handful of Time) which I am NOT signed in too  – what is with that!?
  • My two blogs are totally separate: different sites,  domains and sign-ins, they have nothing in common except they are both on the wordpress.com platform.
  • I physically cannot be signed in to both blogs at the same time – WordPress.com won’t let me (at least I haven’t been able to do it up till now, if it can be done that would be good to know too).
  • If anyone has an answer to this I would really love to know it.

Why am I trying to reblog?  Well, because I need some followers on my A Handful of Time blog to help my digital business presence get out there. Apparently I need to get better SEO things going, and that only happens if people are reading or looking at my digital sites.  Since I only have 4 followers on A Handful of Time I don’t think the traffic to my blog is creating even a micro-nano-infintesimal shadow of a footstep in the internet.

The internet is a vast, vast ocean, and my business is only a teeny, tiny microbe of plankton (located in a very small part of the physical world) being swallowed by the gulping maw of the social media whale. I appreciate any help I can get in spreading my tiny ripples a bit wider, and I promise to try and write about things that won’t bore you as much as paint drying on a wall (note I did say TRY).

Any help, suggestions of friendly banter gratefully accepted.

  1. I don’t really know much about your problem but have you tried opening a second window and then logging into your other blog on that? You should be able to access both blogs at once that way.

  4. Are you a follower of the other blog? Seems like you could reblog posts if you are, but not sure on that.
You might have to try WordPress support.

    1. I am a follower (i think) – well it comes up in my reader so I must be, which is how I tried to reblog it. WP support looks like I will have to try.

  6. Hi, Claudette. I’d suggest you use ‘Press this’ rather than reblog the post. Check this link out. It explains what ‘Press this’ is and how to set it up. I use it a lot and it works well and looks so much better than a reblog. I learned about this feature at last year’s Bloggers Bash. The speaker (who was from WordPress) was surprised by how many of us reblogged posts rather than use the ‘press this’ feature.

    Hope it helps.

      1. You’re welcome, Claudette. I had no idea what ‘press this’ did until I was told about it at the bloggers’ bash. What I like about it is that it does exactly the same as a reblog does, but it looks a lot neater and you are able to add tags and a category before it gets published. I’ve used it several times and now use it far more than the reblog button.
