I want to declutter my brain,
to get rid of the names,
of people I’ve met,
that I’d rather forget,
I want to declutter my brain.
I want to declutter my brain,
of memories that pain,
and let go of that mess,
and have more space, not less,
I want to declutter my brain.
I want to declutter my brain,
then fill it with goodness again,
the hugs of a child,
their laughter and smiles
I want to declutter my brain.

When you’ve finished can you come round and do mine?? Love this – really resonates with me.

I love this. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could just do an autumn cleanup and get on with all the good stuff. cheers

Thansk WD. I really, really wish I could open my head and sweep it all out. I want to store the good things, but all the rubbish keeps intruding. I shall keep piling up the good stuff in the hopes that it eventually takes over (in a bloodless coup) and boots out the bad π

Wouldnβt that be grand? If you find the key please pass it over this way …. by the way, this is fully resonant of your Pam Ayres which means you are fully on form!

That was a dab bit of expression, so I am sorry that this piece of ridiculousness sprang to my thoughts!
I want to re-order my ,
of things big and small that may be unkind.
but keep any good bits that I happen to find.
Oh, but my mind has a way,
of disregarding that which I say
and refusing to throw things away.
So I’ll get a large holding box,
that once was useful for unmatched socks,
and such as has extremely strong locks.
I’ll lock all the disordered inside
and through a crack just especially wide
I’ll poke out my tongue as they cower and hide!

Oh gosh, I know the feeling. Funny you should post this cos I did some decluttering today. You could run this into a song! It’d be a hit! π

Totally with you on this. Besides the bad, I’d like to get rid of useless stuff too. Such as old commercial jingles. I’d probably do a lot better remembering names and books I’ve read, if it wasn’t for “plop, plop, fizz, fizz, oh what a relief it is,” banging around in there. π

I know exactly what you mean. I have tv ads from my teens still in my head – why can I remember them, and not the really good stuff π “we’re happy little vegemites” takes up sooooo much space.
