The unexpected benefits of blogging about Socks.

Ok, you may wonder, what ARE the unexpected benefits of blogging about socks?  (You also may not wonder, but I’m going to tell you anyways).   The Unexpected Sock Benefits occurred because I blogged this post, or possibly it may have been this post, and I am now the proud possessor of a pair of FREE, cute and quirky socks, all the way from Sweden!

How did this happen? I hear you ask – well, actually I didn’t hear you, but for the sake of the continuation of this post let’s pretend that I did, ok? – Ok.

Back in early December I received an email from Christoffer and here is part of what he wrote:

I found your blog while googling for Sock blogs. It was a bad finding since you obviously don’t blog about socks, but we still liked your blog so I’d like to ask you anyway… Would you like us to send you a pair of socks and let you review it on your blog? If you also took a picture of the socks (preferably on you) that would of course be great, and we would post in on our instagram.

Now, the offer of a free pair of socks is nothing to turn your nose up at, or more pertinently your toes – especially when you live where I do and Winter seems determined to make your toes emulate frozen granite.  So, after checking out his website to make sure he was a person of sock-integrity, and being reassured that he was indeed offering quality feet apparel, I emailed him right back and said Yes, and thank you very much.

All in good time, well, Monday actually, The Socks arrived.  I excitedly ripped the package open, oohed and aahed, and stuck those beauties on my aching feet ( I had been wearing wedge sandals at work all day, and my feet were a little sore).  I’m actually wearing them now as I write this post (don’t worry, I haven’t been wearing them all the time since Monday evening, it’s just coincidence) as they are very soft and comfy.  More importantly, they don’t pinch my toes and are not bulky and heavy like some socks.  I actually prefer to have bare feet mostly, so when I wear socks they need to be good socks.  Check out the photos below showing the cute design.

So, there you go, the unexpected benefits of blogging about socks!

Now, what would happen if I blogged about a new car, fancy techie stuff I can’t afford or winning the lottery …..

  8. Just so you don’t break the fortune chain, I think you should keep writing about lovely things one can receive in the mail. Of course, this also has me wondering if I should STOP posting about certain things on my own blog or I might get something unsavory in the mail. Hmm…

  10. What a great looking pair of socks. I once wrote about socks on my blog. It was in the early days and is a post I must bring back out. Pleased to say that I got quite a few pairs of Christmas socks from Santa, Claudette. Put them on your list for next Christmas. He always has loads of them on his sleigh.
