There once was a unicorn born with no horn
A sad little unicorn feeling lonely and love-lorn
He sat and he cried, hid when others were near
Believing that they were the cause of his fear
One day as he hid, one day as he cried
He thought in his thoughts a fabulous kind of idea
I understand now, I can see that I know
All the things I don’t love will just have to go
After much thinking I have no wish to be
This sad, love-lorn creature that you now see
I realise now that I have been changed
Retaining my beauty, although still untamed
I will run with the wind, I am wild and free
Delight in my grace, and the joy that is me
Understanding myself and choosing my course
What else could I be but the very first horse.
Wow, what a punch line there at the end Claudette – I never saw that coming. Very nicely written.

I wondered what that hard horny bump was on top of my horse’s head the other day when I was giving her a prep for our show riding and now I know. Thanks!
