What does it all add up too?
the seconds of my life,
count them off in gratitude,
daughter, sister, mother, wife.
No number can ever tally,
the measure of our worth,
the answer is in living well,
each day upon the earth.

Very well done. I love the rhythm here and the use of your own person story and wisdom.

You have such lyrical things just rolling out of your brain 🙂 I love the rhyme and the meaning and when read aloud it sounds almost like a mantra or meditation chant.

I have a feeling you also have rhyming couplets rolling around in your brain most of the day. I like how your title explains the line: No number can ever tally. To me, it’s like your saying there’s no point in doing the math; just enjoy it.

That is exactly it Nate. When we start to put a “sum” on everything, natural appreciation and enjoyment tend to get lost.
P.S YES, sometimes my brain thinks in rhyme – all the time! See – it’s just me 🙂
