I don’t know how I missed the hippos,
who tromped all over me,
they must have been in stealth mode,
which is why I didn’t see.

I think they did the tango,
on my bed whilst I was asleep,
or perhaps it was a polka,
and my aches will last a week.

I’ve got the hacking cough,
of an elephant bull seal,
my head wants to explode,
or at least that’s how if feels.

I had the hot and then the cold,
I’m drinking lots of fluids,
If my body is a temple,
mine has decayed to ruins.

At least today is Friday,
so I have all the weekend,
to wallow in my misery,
before works starts again!

I loved this but not because it ended on a relatively sad mode but because your words worked their magic.

Thanks Nida 🙂 I just wish the hippos had rampaged somewhere else.

Aww!! Hope you get well soon (and that someone brings you grapes and good books – and whatever you feel like eating)

🙂 I’m glad you have someone there for you. Having to cook when ill is a nuisance

Get well soon, Claudette. If I was living next door, I’d be around with lots of tea and biscuits to help try and cheer you up. I just hope you do not succumb to ‘daytime telly!’ If it’s anything like we get here in the UK, you’ll soon be back at work.

I don’t watch telly at all, haven’t for 9 years. Thanks for the kind thoughts re tea and bickies, but my taste buds seem to have gone on holiday also, so that’s another disappointment.

Yikes! Beware of the hippos! I love the flow of the words. Hop you feel better soon!

Thanks Kat. I was hoping it might encourage the germs to move out, but the seem to have decided to stay. 😦

    G’day Cloudette,
What a horrible bug you have, thank goodness it hasn’t robbed you of the ability to write a well constructed poem, hope this finds you feeling better

Thanks Muzzy, I am feeling better, but the cough still lingers. Hope your days have been kind to you.
