This is my hair. I’ve done many weird things to it in my lifetime, but I am about to do the most extreme thing ever – I’m shaving it off, right down to a No.1 for the Worlds Greatest Shave. Any money I raise will go to the Leukemia Foundation here in Australia, to help those suffering from cancer.
My daughter and I have formed a team and hope to raise $1000 in the next fortnight. For every sponsor I get from Blogland I plan to donate another $1, so if you are kind enough to donate please leave a comment.
I am sponsoring my 80 year old Mum and my 70 year old Aunt, who are going to shave also.
If you would like to sponsor me to help me raise money for a worthy cause, and want to see my “bald” photos, -well, even if you don’t want to see my bald photos – you can donate on my profile page on the website.
Not sure how I’m going to feel “bald”, but I’m trying not to think too much about it.
Hats, hats, got to find some hats.
Hats off to you!! I donated but when it came time to select a state, of course none of those applied, so I left that part blank. Hope it still worked. Admire you and your beauty, inside and out. Daughter too!

Thanks Stephanie – it worked. You are our first non-family donation, so HUGE thanks to you.
Oh, and that hat you just took off – pass it over here. 🙂

Hi Claudette, very well done to you. I already have my hair at a No.1 and, believe me, you don’t have to bother with it after having a shower 🙂
I’ve donated for this great cause. The very best luck with it.
Best wishes,
Hugh

hank you Hugh, you are most generous. I’m a little worried I will admit, and have been googling soft hats for work. Also worried how cold my head will get as we have moved into Autumn here, and this morning it is decidedly chilly. All will be well and I will adjust I guess. 🙂

My guess is that if your hair is anything like mine, then it will grow very quickly, Claudette. I think what you are doing is so magnificent for such a great cause.
I have a woolly bobble hat for my head. It was a Christmas present, and from the weather forecast for this week is predicted to be I think I’lll be wearing it lots.

This is our first time too, so no sure what it will be like. If I look hideous bald then I have some hats and scarfs to cover it 🙂

I’ve never seen an ugly woman with a bare head, Claudette. it usually looks quite wonderful. I have to admit I’m a bit suss about that hair colour – you are doing a good thing!

Ah, I do like my purple hair chalk for a special occasion – and the more grey I get the more I like a bit of colour every now and then 🙂

Ahh, it’s chalk. Geez, I’m behind the times with hair colouring then. 😀

Good on you Claudette! I’m not brave enough to do something like that so I donated last night instead 😉

Thank you Marigold. I was wondering who that person was, (not realising I think of people by their blogging tags) and now I realise it was you. Thank you so much, it is really appreciated.

Reblogged this on to search and to find and commented:
patiently waiting for my Hats to arrive, and frantically trying to learn “20 different ways to tie a scarf”! Played “Wigs” with my Mum and daughters on the weekend, it is amazing how different they can make you look. SO, only 3 more sleeps till I am bald.
