I got a lapband, just last week,
and the smallest change is just so sweet,
there’s no constant thoughts of “what is edible”,
and I find that freedom so incredible.
I can look at food in all its wonder,
whilst no longer feeling endless hunger,
I can pause and admire it’s pleasing design
without planning how to devour it, in my mind.
The freedom from the endless nag,
is something I have never had,
and the icing on the cake, I’d say,
is I’ve lost 6 kilos since that day.

Congratulations, Claudette. Good to hear all went well and that it is working.
I’d just published a post about cake before reading this. I hope it won’t tempt you, otherwise I’ll be in real trouble.

Hi Hugh, it won’t tempt me – I have no appetite whatsoever – and it is great 🙂

Glad you are finding the transition so easy, Claudette.

Day 11 today, and I’m starting to want to chew …… something 🙂 but I drink instead! (That doesn’t sound good, but you know what I mean).

It will be worth it. My husband had his lapband done about 25 years ago and he still eats small meals. It just goes to show how much food we eat that we don’t need. His nephew had it done a few years ago and he looks so much healthier now. It’s a brave step in the right direction.

I only wish I had it done years ago, but had to wait on the public hospital list. Anyway – moving forward now and that is what counts.

It will be worth the wait. At least that gave you plenty of time to be sure it was what you wanted to do.
