I’m not one for the “selfie”,
and I don’t usually indulge,
but there’s a time and reason,
to “selfie” I suppose.
And this past week has been it,
I’ve taken a whole two,
and now I’m going to show them,
to you lucky, captive, few.
Number one was my favourite necklace,
when I wear it I feel sleek,
and Number two was matching hair,
to my pendant of the week.
So there you have it people,
the real reasons I indulged,
it’s not about myself, you see,
it’s about the things I made!

Good to see you Claudette 🙂 You’ve inspired me with the hair chalk. Cool jewellery too.

It’s good stuff, the brand I have is called “vixen” Hair Graffiti Hair Chalk – 12 colours to choose from, and mix and match!

I bought the same one, before I saw this comment. Enjoyed experimenting with two colours yesterday.

Lovely and sweet, with both pics giving us a treasured glimpse into That Which Be You, along with the whimsical word-smithing. This is by no means a reflection on your own sharing, but there was a time in my life when I greatly controlled images of me truly. But things change, and I no longer care, and the freedom of the not-caring allows an honesty that is far more rich and rewarding than anything I might have scripted…

Oh, I have “destroyed” many digital photos of me int he past, but then I read something that made me stop and embrace my less flattering photogenic nature. I read “what photos will your children have of you if you cull them?” – or something along that line, and I realised they were right. Now I can look, not love, but tolerate. HUGE step forward for me.
Thanks for your flattering words re pics and my words.

I was the same, highly critical of my photos and carefully culling them. Finally it dawned on me how vain I was acting.
Recently at work I had this lesson driven home. I was making a “get to know us” guide for new teachers so they knew who worked in the front office and what we did. I wanted to include pictures and for the most part everyone handled it well. But two women complained about every photo I took, then took their own and used filters and so on. It took forever for them to get it done. Honestly, it was so silly! In the end, the people who looked best were the ones who had fun with it and just smiled or made goofy faces. 😜

Yes, I’m coming to appreciate the weirdness when my kids trap include me in their “snapchat” filters – they make me laugh, and that’s got to be a good thing?, right?

How pretty your pendants, how lovely to see you! And your poem … well you know in the end the poems always do it for me. I am a fan of your delicate, whimsical, often poignant poetry.

I enjoy your fandom appreciation 🙂 Thank you for your compliments. I always think I look weird in photos, but am learning that I probably look weird in life too… and that is OK 🙂

Ah, shucks Miriam, thanks. Didn’t look too awful in these ones (for which I am grateful) so felt ok-ish loading them up. Thanks for your positive words.

Your selfies are very fun! It’s difficult for me to take selfies because of my arm weakness. When I’m in a selfie with someone else, they always take the photo. Your pendants are also fun! Thanks for sharing your glimpse with us!

You are most welcome Dee. I usually try to avoid them, my eldest takes selfies a lot and I really thin it is a younger generational thing. 🙂

Those are both lovely photos, honest. For someone who doesn’t take selfies, you do darn well! Also, loving the necklaces. They look smashing on you.
Have you ever done that “Is Your Portrait in a Museum” search in the Google Arts & Culture app? It’s rather fun, and your selfie skills would be put to good use!

Thanks CJ, my ego is swelling a little right now (best not take a selfie today or I shall look like a football head). Mmm, the IYPinaM sound interesting, I shall proceed to google forthwith (well, later anyway, unless I forget) and … google.

Flattery will get you everywhere – obviously Canada in your case! Thanks WD, my fav is that one too, although I still think my mouth is a little weird in that – not sure what I was trying to project there!!

Thanks Margo. Not normally a pink person (purple is my go-to chalk colour) but it worked that day.

How fun! The pink hair accentuates the pink necklace quite nicely. 😁
