Regret – A Short Paragraph Story

Regret shines in your eyes as you look at me.
“You shouldn’t have done that” you say softly.
I gaze at your familiar features, and sadly nod my head, “I know, but I was weak and selfish.”
“What will happen now?” you ask me.
“Now”, I whisper, “now, I will turn around and walk away.”
And so I do, turning my back on the mirror.

It wasn’t true – it just popped into my head and I had to write it.

I admit to being guilty of that at many times.

Thanks Ruth. Sometimes they just push themselves out of my brain, into my fingers and onto the screen.

Nothing 🙂 It was just a bit of fiction. What do you think I might have done? 🙂

Well, on any given day I truly could be having that conversation with myself 🙂 I was hoping that people would insert their own thoughts by being “mysterious”!
