Today I returned to work,
a duty that I could not shirk,
I’ve had 5 weeks of leave,
a most joyous reprieve,
but now those free days are done.
It’s not that I don’t understand
the expectations life has of man
that at the end of the day
we should pay our own way
but I’d rather win Lotto instead.
So forgive me if I don’t seem happy
or my tone has turned a bit snappy
I’d got used to the time
that was all mine
but now it belongs to the clock.

I know how you feel, its almost too long, we get used to the feeling of being free. I have this last week to go and I know next Monday I will feel the same as you 🙂

Oh, hugs and commiserations for having to go back to work (unless you win Lotto before then) 🙂

I am in the same boat. I feel like as much as I enjoyed seeing family over break, I wish I hadn’t traveled and could have used those days to stay home and sleep some more like I want to do right now.

Hi Holly, I was totally lazy and didn’t do anything other than read, potter in the garden, go where I wanted-when I wanted, read, read, played games and read. it was wonderful. Sigh.

Thanks. I am very grateful to have a job, but really wish I didn’t have to. 🙂

It is lovely to stay home and relax and do your own thing. After five weeks of freedom, it would be hard to give up! Oh well, lucky we still have weekends. All the best for 2016, Claudette.
