A Change is just a change

I’m stymied and stumped, my freshness has fled,
it’s covered by the dust-bunnies that live in my head.
I’ve been racking my brains for a new way to blog
but my thoughts have been dampened by low lying fog.

I don’t want to mimic what others have done,
no weak copies here, that wouldn’t be fun.
I’ve been having some trouble with this kind of dream,
so I thought: take the easy road – search for a theme!

Well, I must be theme-jaded, I clicked through a lot,
but none of them shone like the cream of the crop.
I feel kind of boring for not tweaking my page,
but a new set of templates it seems is not what I crave.

I want something new, that glistens and shines,
like frosted cobwebs, or dew-sparkled vines.
A fresh way of showing you things that I like,
a newness as sharp as the stars in the night.

Until it arrives, I am sorry to say,
you’re stuck with me and my boring old ways.
So no news from me, of new things to see,
as the year ticks further on into January.

I’ve not given up on this idea of mine,
I’ll go on with my thinking, and a thought I might find,
and perchance I should brainwave a startling plan,
be assured I’ll advise you as soon as I can.

love it. I haven’t yet found a theme I like better than the one I’ve been using since nearly day one.

Thanks Allie. Yes, I go looking, but I keep coming back to this one – I really like it, may have to shell out to upgrade because I would like to change the colours – maybe not.

This is a brilliant start. You’ve certainly found inspiration in your lack of it 😀 How’d you do that?! Well done however you pulled it off!!

I don’t think there’s much wrong with your “old” doings, but good luck with any new thoughts that pop into your bright little head!

I think choosing a new theme can be one of the most stressful things to do. The last time I did it, I spent days going through them all. Then there were the colour and font choices, as well as which widgets to bring over. I’m now of the understanding that if I’m happy with it, then stick with it. You did brilliantly by turning this dilemma into some great poetry.
    Happy New Year, Claudette.

This is exactly how I feel about my blog at the moment. And your’s is anything but boring. In fact, it’s always a pleasure to see what you’re going to come up with next, whether it’s photographs or poems as delightful as this one.

I often find inspiration strikes me if I stop looking for it. And I agree with Ruthsarc, what you’ve got now is definitely not boring.

Yes, it’s learning to not look that can be a challenge sometimes. Thanks for the nice compliment.
